Some claim that carpet off-gasses fumes such as from formaldehyde. Formaldehyde isn’t used in the manufacturing of carpet.
Any odor from a new carpet is simply a "new carpet odor," just as you might find in a new car or other manufactured product.
Then, people blame the latex in carpet, saying they have an allergic reaction to the natural "glues."
The problem is, latex in today’s carpet is also synthetic, which studies show does not contribute to allergic reactions.
How can you respond to customers and clients when they begin to question the value of carpet? Educate them.
Put together a binder with information from solid sources, such as various articles from CM/Cleanfax® magazine and from the carpet manufacturing industry.
"
I had AmeriClean clean some carpeting and apply ScotchGard™. I am new in this area, having retired here from Connecticut. I have used numerous carpet cleaning businesses in my lifetime, but I have never been as pleased as I am with AmeriClean. The technician, Don, was extremely efficient, respectful, and really worked hard to clean my carpets. You are fortunate to have such an employee! I shall pass your name to my friends here at The Woods."
