Tom Hall of HH Technologies, LLC, believes the best answer to a problem is, quite simply, innovation.
“A friend at church came to me with a problem one day,” Tom says. “He asked, ‘Is there something non-chemical I can use to get rid of the rotten egg smell in my water?’”
Tom set to work. With his own thirty-five years of experience in the water treatment industry and wife Veta’s expertise in purification techniques offered by EcoQuest International, he knew he could successfully tackle the job.
Tom was right. His invention, the Eliminator, patent pending, made its debut.
“It’s basically controlled aeration,” says Tom when asked what the Eliminator does. He explains that the device is installed between a well and a customer’s home and that aeration, totally contained within the Eliminator, eliminates smells caused by hydrogen sulfide, the culprit when it comes to water’s rotten egg smell.
At the same time, says Tom, the Eliminator offers other benefits: it reduces iron in water and can help water softeners work more effectively, too.
“Have you ever seen a toilet or sink that’s got rust stains? That’s caused by iron,” reports Tom. When the Eliminator aerates the water, iron particles precipitate, causing less of it to end up staining fixtures in the home, he explains. Water in the Eliminator passes through two chambers of granular carbon, further improving taste and purity.
