Local Artist Saves Money With AmeriClean. AmeriClean Newsletter - April & May 2009
“Autumn,” “Blooming Dogwood,” and “Indian Summer,” aren’t just words—they’re just a few of the titles of Bob Wantz’s paintings that were exhibited at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts (WCMFA) a few years ago in a special show entitled 30 Years of Painting: Bob Wantz Retrospective.
As a Signature Member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society whose work is represented in collections such as those of the Washington County Court House and Martinsburg City Hospital, Wantz has enjoyed notable success as an artist. He’ll gladly do paintings of beloved landscapes or farms on commission. In addition, he’ll be teaching classes in both beginning and intermediate watercolor painting this spring at the WCMFA.
Teaching comes naturally to Wantz since he also spent 35 years as a faculty member and administrator for Washington County Public Schools—most recently as principal of Clear Spring Middle School.
“I am very, very, very fortunate,” says Wantz, though one might argue that talent and hard work, not just good fortune, have helped him make the most of artistic and professional opportunities he’s had over the years.
At the same time, for the past ten to fifteen years, Wantz has relied on the same company to clean his carpets and tile floors, particularly for the apartments he manages: AmeriClean.
Wantz remembers one AmeriClean success story in particular, a time when old tenants had just moved out and left stained carpet behind.
“I thought I’d have to buy new carpet,” Wantz explains. But he was amazed, he says, when he saw how the carpet looked after AmeriClean was finished.
“It made a racehorse out of a mule!” Wantz says, explaining how AmeriClean’s visit saved him substantial carpet replacement money. “Whatever they do, it works!”

"I was very pleased with the cleaning and pleased with the service technician that you sent to do the work. Mr. Snyder is an asset to your company. He is pleasant and efficient."
